Position Summary

Performs inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of instrument and controls equipment and wiring; troubleshooting and writing minimal programming changes for PLC's. Continuously improves the production lines, specifically fine tuning electrical/electronic equipment to increase output, reduce downtime and reduce waste. Maintains, repairs, and calibrates electronic equipment. Performs tasks associated with test and repair of equipment including taking apart and reassembling components after repairing or replacing parts. Inspects equipment and evaluates performance.

Essential Functions

1. Troubleshoot and understand PLC logic from Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Square D, PLCs.

2. Understand ladder logic from different programs that control PLCs.

3. Ability to read, edit and write ladder logic programs; experience with ladder logic software.

4. Understand analog and digital devices in input/output for various devices.

5. Understand drilling machinery as in the oil field today: a) Active Heave drawworks controls; b) BOP Mux control systems; c) Cyber-based drill controls; and d) Power generation control systems

6. Troubleshoots AC drives and variable frequency drives.

7. Troubleshoots down to the component level.
