Setting dedicated measures in National Recovery Plans for replacing inefficient windows is a wise and easy step to make EU buildings more energy efficient and to limit C02emissions., says Bertrand Cazes, Secretary General of Glass for Europe.Long-lasting energy savings could be quickly achieved, if national recovery and renovation plans were effective at supporting the uptake of high-performance windows equipped with the right glazing combination.

To achieve the ambitious climate targets of the European Commission, higher renovation rates of at least 2% are necessary in the building sector.
