Tree removal to close streets Oct. 9

Coos Bay Public Works Department is advising motorists of tree removal work taking place on Commercial Avenue and Anderson Avenue starting at 7 a.m. Oct. 9.

Commercial Avenue will be closed for a brief time when the tree is felled, and will open to one lane while the tree is cut up and removed. Work will be completed by 9:30 a.m.

Crews will then shut down one lane of Anderson Avenue to remove two trees between Seventh Street and Fifth Street. There will be a brief closure of both lanes that will be controlled by city flaggers. Work is scheduled to be completed by 1 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and reduce speeds through the construction area.
