Located at 6328 E. Utah Ave., Quarry Tile was founded here in 1965. It sells to distributors and architects on projects ranging from single homes to global restaurant chains. The companys tiles also are used in major restoration projects, such as for the New York Subway and the Los AngelesLibrary.

Graham Construction is the general contractor for the project that started just before Christmas. The work is expected to be completed in February or March, OKeefe said. City of Spokane Valley building permit information lists the project value at nearly$700,000.

A Sherwin-Williams paint supply store is under construction in north Spokane as part of a new retail building being erected at 9412 N. NewportHighway.

The nearly 4,000-square-foot store is expected to open this spring. The new outlet will occupy just over half of the almost 8,000-square-foot structure, which has a listed project value of at least$700,000.
