This weekends 48th annual Brandon Home and Leisure Show will feature the latest indoor, outdoor, travel and recreation products, all under one roof.

Nearly 170 exhibitors will take over 96,000 square feet of the Keystone Centre starting Friday afternoon. Although the three-day event will be similar to years past, a new addition will include a selection of modular homes.

Show manager Dave Melcosky said the modular home business has really taken off in the past year and is something they wanted to be able to showcase.

"Because of the activity in the oilpatch and in the influx of new immigrants into Brandon, the housing market has changed," Melcosky said. "A lot of people looking to work near Virden, Melita and Pipestone, theyre looking at modular homes as opposed to housing because theres a shortage of housing in some of those areas."

There will be three modular homes on site including two vacation-style homes and one regular residence, along with a wide selection of hot tubs, sunroom additions, decorations for both indoors and outdoors as well as decks and fences.

"If youre decorating, buying or building or moving out to the lake, all the products that we sell encompass that."

On the travel and recreation side of things, he added, there will be plenty of boats, lawn and garden tractors as well as docks, fireplaces, motorcycles and quads and other motor vehicles on display.

Exhibitors have been busy setting up for the event since the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair wrapped up last week, he said.
