Drive by the new Denny Sanford Premier Center and you might be in awe of its size. But you may be curious about those rippled metal panels around the exterior.

City Council members are asking questions including who's responsible for the cost of repairs.

Those on the city council say they were told the city was only obligated to pay $117 million for the construction of the events center.

Tuesday afternoon, Dave Pfeifle addressed the council. He said an independent third party is investigating both the materials and the method of installation used on the construction of the metal panels.

Two new mockups will be completed by mid-October and then they'll have a good idea how to solve the problem.

Substantial completion should be finished August 1. The metal siding issue will not affect the grand opening of the events center.
