2012 Grouse Hunt
What a great day hunting grouse. I got my bag limit in less then 4 hours. This year they were EVERYWHERE! I got the idea to hunt this area while I was shed hunting during the summer and kept startling birds. I actually grew to the point where i thought they were pretty damn annoying, which is a rare feeling because usually grouse are in low numbers. But with the fairly warm winter last year there was a high, healthy population of both Ruffed and Blue grouse. I have yet to get out for a second hunt, but I might go this weekend before it snows again. I #39;m not such a big fan of hunting birds in snow.. But before you call me a sissy..
