Combined sewer overflow at 5115 Oak St Kansas City, Missouri, 16 August 2009. The dark effluent had a strong sulfurous odor as a result of a hefty input of raw sewage. Undersized sewers need to be replaced to reduce urban flooding and current US Environmental Protection Agency regulations require separation of septic sewage from storm runoff
