Property services firm Styles&Wood has completed a 770,000 design and build project at Avon Park Primary School in Warwickshire.

The 20-week project required the full strip out and remodelling of the special day school and included the addition of a 'calm room', a design technology suite, a science room and a teaching kitchen.

The nursery occupying the building adjacent remained fully operational at all times.

Styles&Woods specialist education service team was appointed to handle the refurbishment following a competitive tender process.

The team worked alongside the client, The Witherslack Group, to plan an appropriate schedule of works under a tight deadline, with minimal disruption to the nursery and the surrounding environment.

This included engaging with the local community and providing fortnightly updates on progress and regular air testing at weekends during the removal of asbestos to provide extra reassurance for staff and parents.

Paul Lonsdale, operations director at Styles&Wood, said: The team went above and beyond basic requirements and considered the site appearance, respect for the local community and the environment throughout the project.

By working in collaboration with Witherslack Group we were able to deliver the full redevelopment within budget and on time.
