BYRON A Byron contractor has lost his state roofing contractors license indefinitely after installing a substandard roof on a home in 2011, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation reports.

Rodney Scott Rogers, 36, of Stillman Valley, former owner of Rogers Remodeling Inc., 5125 E. Hamlet Circle in Byron, cannot apply to have his license restored for at least a year, according to a consent order between him and the state, signed July 31.

The business reportedly has been bought by Brett and Jim Rogers, both of Oregon, who are brothers of Rodney Scott Rogers.

At the time of the suspension, Scott no longer owned the business, and he chose not to hire an attorney, attend the suspension hearing, and fight the allegation, because he does not intend to return to the roofing business, Brett Rogers said.

He said he and Jim had bought out their brother, and they now own and operate Rogers Remodeling at 107 Daysville Road in Oregon; Scott no longer is affiliated with the company in any way, Brett said.
