COLUMBUS, Ohio -

The owner of Perry Investment Properties, a roofing company, has been indicted for theft by the Franklin County Grand Jury.

Matthew Wayne Perry, 48, of Johnstown has been indicted on one felony count of theft from an elderly person or disabled adult, and four felony counts of falsification in a theft offense.

Perry is accused of entering into contracts with seven people in Reynoldsburg, promising to repair or replace their roofs, between April 5, 2013 and July 13, 2013. At least two of the customers were elderly, according to the indictment.

In each case, the customer signed over thousands of dollars in insurance proceeds to pay for roofing services, according to the indictment.

It is alleged that Perry received more than $24,000 from the victims, but never delivered on services promised.

Through March 2014, the victims made numerous requests for Perry to complete the work he had promised. He continued to promise that the work would be completed.

The indictment states that Perry failed to complete any of the work and refused to refund any money to the seven victims.
