GENEVA The Geneva Public Library Board approved a construction contract with a roofing company, Pine, for a project in which the library will have its roof repaired. The vote was 5-2 in favor on Thursday.

Also in a 5-2 vote, the boardapproved a contract with a roofing consultant, Mac Brady Associates Inc., of LaGrange, for construction administration and quality assurance observation.

The total cost of the project $277,500 will include $37,000 for Mac Bradys fees, records show.

Board members Travis Ketterman and Susan Shivers cast the no votes both times.

Library Director Christine Lazaris said the roofing consultant will have a pre-construction meeting with Pine next week to try to get a firm date for construction to start. Lazaris said the goal is to start the roof repair and replacement in early October.
