The lease between Cenveo and the city has been extended for five years

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A roofing replacement at the Cenveo Corporation building is now underway.

Cenveo, formerly known as Commercial Envelope, leases the old Standard Register Building located on Industrial Road. In October 2014, the roof of the building was damaged by a fire.

The Kirksville City Council and the corporation reached an agreement in December to both extend the lease and replace the roof. Cenveo will pay up to $237,000 for the project.

"During the negotiations with that lease extension, the roof replacement came into play and basically Cenveo is paying for about half of the roof," said Kirksville Codes and Planning Director Brad Selby.

Thelease between Cenveo and the cityhas been extended for five years. The city also receives a monthly fee of $10,000 from Cenveo for the use of the building.

The Cenveo plant is also looking to complete more improvements including alighting upgrade. Kirksville City Council members will vote on the possible lighting upgrade at a meeting in the future.
