Hoback road reconstruction contract signed By Michael Polhamus Jackson Hole Daily Jackson Hole News&Guide |

Construction of a 1,000-foot section of retaining wall extending south from the new Hoback bridge is scheduled to begin this fall or next spring, according to a $10 million contract awarded last week.

The retaining wall, to be built on Highway 89s east side, will provide room to shift the roadway toward the river, build a pathway and add shoulders. The project is not anticipated to impede traffic until next year, when one lane will be closed for a month and a half to rebuild the road.
