REDDING, Calif. -

A Redding driver was arrested for DUI early Thursday after crashing his SUV dangerously close to a gas station.

The crash happened just after midnight at the Chevron station at Shasta View Drive and Tarmac Road.

Surveillance video obtained by KRCR News Channel 7 shows the black Cadillac Escalade careen out of control, running one retaining wall and crashing into a second retaining wall.

Police said the driver Brandon Foster, 30, was driving on Shasta View Drive when he lost control.

Witness Jason Lee described the sound of the crash, "And we look over and we hear this like boom, like some train just wrecked and he's just taken the wall out."

Jeffrey Jewett added "He just took the wall out, and he rode like on two wheels all the way. He was like grinding the wall."

A woman and a teenager pulled Foster out of the car. He was taken to the hospital and arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. Police said they found drug paraphernalia inside the Escalade.
