The iconic British footwear brand Dr Martens has opened a new store in Cambridge. The 700 sq ft retail outlet's arrival in Sidney Street, follows the recent store opening on Sadler Gate in Derby earlier this year bringing Dr Martens' UK stores count up to 25 nationwide. The property was taken on a 10 year lease with a break at year 5.
Cambridge is a fantastic and diverse city which has a cultural relevance to Dr Martens with its strong association with music a key pillar of the brand. Cambridge is also renowned for its buzzing student population which makes it the ideal location.

Planning consent has been granted for a new 55,000 sq ft Trade Park at Thurmaston, Leicester, where SPACE acted on behalf of our client Travis Perkins PLC to take a new lease for their brands Wickes Building Supplies, Travis Perkins Builders Merchant, Benchmarx Kitchens and BSS Pipeline and Heating. The Trade Park adjoins Costco and is owned by Charles Street Buildings Group who have agreed a new 25 year lease with our client.
The Trade Park is expected to open in early 2017 and construction has now commenced on site.

Dr Martens arrive in Derby following the success of recent openings in London's Oxford Street, Cheshire Oaks and Sheffield. The 478 sq ft standalone store opened at 50 Sadler Gate on a new 5 year lease.
Derby's is widely regarded as one of the birthplaces of the industrial revolution and with its rich heritage in manufacturing makes this an ideal match for Dr Martens whose brand origins lie in workwear.
With its lively alternative music scene and vibrant student population, Derby sits well for Dr Martens and Sadler Gate's buzzing bars, shops, tattooists and hair salons makes this the perfect destination.

The 19th Century Great Central Railway building a former wagon repair works, located off Upperton Road, and once facing demolition, has won a Leicester Civic Society Award.
The building which was once dilapidated and vandalised was restored in a 10 m revamp by our client Jamie Lewis to provide retail units and a coffee shop a cycle store.
SPACE advised on the development site from the outset, with lettings to Evans Cycles, Nisbets and Starbucks, alongside a Lidl foodstore.
The panel were immensely impressed by the high quality of the extremely complex structural work undertaken by Staniforth and RG+P Architects and their contractors.
The awards will be presented at an event on Friday April 15 with Peter Chandler, creative workspace development manager for Leicester City Council as guest speaker.

Sheffield welcomes British footwear brand Dr Martens who opened their 21st UK store here this week at 52 Chapel Walk.The 900 sq ft retail outlet was taken on a 5 year lease and follows openings in Portsmouth, Milton Keynes and Belfast.
The edgy city with its own street style as well as a great music association and student scene is an ideal place for Dr Martens to make their mark. It is also known for its industrial roots with a rich history of steel production which reflects Dr Marten's passion for hand-crafted British manufacture.

SPACE are delighted to have acted on behalf of The Co-operative Food Group in acquiring their new store at Abbotswood Park, Leavesden, Watford. The 2,800 sq ft store opened today on a new housing estate of 425 houses and is next door to Warner Bros Studios and the Harry Potter Theme Park.

After 5 years acting as agents jointly with JLL on shopping centre agency in the Charles Darwin Centre in Shrewsbury, we are delighted to confirm that our clients UK Commercial Property Trust, advised by Standard Life, have exchanged with Primark for a new 50,000 sq ft store.

SPACE are delighted to announce that they have acted on behalf of both Arcadia and Caff Nero at Rugby's new 35million extension and redevelopment of Elliott's Field Shopping Park.

The 1,700 sqft restaurant is located on Highcross Street, Leicester and will start fitting out shortly.
