Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- Remodeling of the May Day Stadium is now progressing apace on Rungna Islet in Pyongyang.

Soldier-builders have carried out 75 percent of the total project at present, covering the tile fixing on outer walls, exterior stairway building, ceiling painting, etc.

They finished the plastering and painting of office rooms and corridors covering tens of thousands square meters and tile fixing covering thousands square meters in only 10 days.

By applying rational methods, they have doubled the speed of laying stone staircases over the previous month.

They also finished the painting of arch-style ceiling boards and trusses one month earlier than scheduled.

Meanwhile, ministries and national institutions, charged with afforesting the vicinity of the stadium, have paid big efforts to tending fields of a new species of turf and trees there.
