BATH Aug. 5 began the expansion and remodeling of the Montrose Acme Fresh Market.

The project is budgeted at $3 million, and the store will remain fully operational during the entire expansion and remodeling process, according to Acme officials. The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 4.

The Montrose Acme Fresh Market will be expanded by 10,000 square feet to 103,000 square feet.

Acmes exterior and interior dcor will undergo a complete change, stated Executive Vice President Jim Trout. Our new dcor will create a sophisticated and relaxing grocery shopping environment. All of our perishables departments will be upgraded, and our grocery assortment will be expanded, especially with specialty and international foods. Natural and organic and bulk foods will be concentrated in one department and will double in size and assortment. We will also have the largest assortment of wine, beer and spirits in the area.

There also will be an expanded variety of dairy, frozen and gluten-free foods offered.
