Tony and Kelly Angelini plan to open their second Angelinis Pizzeria & Ristorante in August in the former Clafton Skate building at 214 Main St. in downtown Onalaska.

Remodeling began May 10.

The Angelinis, who opened their original Sparta restaurant in 2003, said Onalaska officials encouraged them to open a second eatery. Tony said he is interested in selling the Sparta location so he can devote all of his time to one restaurant.

The Onalaska restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and probably will have 20 to 25 employees, Tony said. And well have a full bar, he said.

Tony was born and raised in Italy and uses his mothers recipes. Kelly is a Sparta native.

The downtown Rocky Rococo Pizza and Pasta restaurant opened Monday in its new location at 40 Copeland Ave. in Three Rivers Plaza. It had been at 125 S. Fourth St.

The new location can seat 75 and has drive-thru window service, said Roger Brown, a partner in Quality Pizza Inc., the franchisee that owns the three Rocky Rococos in La Crosse and Onalaska.

This Rockys features two innovations, Brown said. One is our menu board, which includes an active digital video display and makes the menu come alive.

The other is the self-serve soda pop dispenser, Brown said. Usually, restaurants have a machine that offers six to eight drink choices, he said. But the restaurants new Coca-Cola Freestyle machine offers more than 100 favors of fountain drinks.
