TGen is short for "Translational Genomics Research Institute." A non-profit research institute, TGen focuses on developing earlier diagnostics and smarter treatments for children with rare disorders. The Center for Rare Childhood Disorders relies on philanthropy from businesses, foundations and concerned individuals. TGen's biomedical research targets new treatments, therapies and cures for diseases such as melanoma, pancreatic cancer, brain tumors, diabetes, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and many other cancers and neurological disorders.

TGen's Center for Rare Childhood Disorders pursues three main goals in caring for afflicted children: identifying the underlying causes that lead to disease, searching for treatment options tailored to their unique biology, and doing everything possible to make a difference in their lives.

"TGen's Center for Rare Childhood Disorders Clinic is the first of its kind," Robyn Nebrich, assistant development director, TGen Foundation. "It's a place where families and children with rare childhood disorders can go to find hope and answers.

"The play area is the heart of the clinic and we are so thankful for Republic West for contributing to this cause," continued Nebrich. "They did all the work required to take the clinic from an ordinary doctor's office to a place where children can have fun and parents can feel at home."

"We couldn't be happier to complete this project for the TGen Center," said Jim Weisman, owner of Republic West Remodeling, a leading Phoenix home remodeling company. "The Foundation makes a huge difference in the lives of children suffering from rare disorders and their families searching desperately for care. We're glad we could contribute to this vital cause."

TGen's Center for Rare Childhood Disorders Clinic is still under construction and is set to have it's grand opening on October 15, 2013.
