DEER VALLEY A two-alarm fire ripped through the roof of a Deer Valley home undergoing extensive remodeling Friday.

The incident started about noon. The fire was reported at a three-level home at 415 Deer Valley Drive. The first arriving firefighters found flames shooting from the roof, said Park City Fire Battalion Chief Ray Huntzinger.

Because of the extensive remodeling the house was undergoing, most of the bare framing was showing.

"When there's no drywall covering it, unprotected wood burns fast," Huntzinger said. "When it starts going, it goes quickly."

Once crews were on scene, they brought the fire under control quickly. A cause of the fire was still being investigated Friday. There was no immediate estimate on the damage cost.

No one was living in the house while it was being remodeled. All of the construction workers on scene were able to safely get out.
