A Manheim Township woman was convicted of stealing numerous Christmas packages from porches in her community.

A local judge convicted 39-year-old Patricia Ann Burnett of 36 misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property in the 2011 spree.

Police charged Burnett with stealing packages from more than 20 front porches and doorsteps, mostly in Manheim Township.

Lancaster County Judge James Cullen returned the verdicts Thursday after three days of testimony from police and Burnett, who denied any wrongdoing.

The numerous stolen items recovered last year from Burnett's home were shown in court. During an hour on the witness stand, Burnett testified to where she obtained the items and how much she paid for them.

She even "recalled" when and where she bought a spiral notebook pad that was reported stolen.

Ultimately, the judge didn't buy it and convicted Burnett of most charges.

Sentencing is scheduled Oct. 22.

However, Burnett is facing another trial on more serious charges regarding a burglary and racketeering scam. That involved Burnett allegedly breaking into homes, stealing goods, then selling the loot on eBay and craigslist.

Sentencing could be delayed until those charges are resolved.
