INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 9, 2014) A car collided with another vehicle before hitting a pair of east side Indianapolis porches Thursday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, a man was going south on North Audubon Avenue in a red Ford Explorer when it collided with a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Audubon and Michigan. Witnesses said the Ford Explorer disregarded a stop sign.

The SUV went into the yard of a home at 354 N. Audubon and went up on the front porch, damaging some landscaping and porch items. The Explorer then went another 20 feet, crashing into a home at 364 N. Audubon and destroying a brick pillar. No one was inside either residence when it happened.

The driver, a man in his 20s, had to be extricated from the Explorer, a process that took about 10 minutes. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.

The driver of the Camry was not taken to the hospital.
