Two Cleveland men are accused of stealing several packages off porches in Westlake.

A Stonehedge Drive resident called police at about 12:05 p.m. Wednesday to report seeing the passenger of a black Cadillac steal a parcel off a neighbors porch, according to Westlake police Capt. Guy Turner.

Westlake and North Olmsted police responded, and a North Olmsted officer stopped the vehicle on Walter Road.

The driver, Hermon Toney, 28, and passenger, Jamir Johnson, 22, both of Cleveland, were arrested by Westlake Police, and several packages that had been stolen from two homes on Stonehedge drive were recovered, Turner said.

The Cadillac belongs to Johnsons mother.

Toney and Johnson were each charged with two counts of theft, three counts of possessing criminal tools and carrying various weapons for a stun gun.

Johnson also was charged with illegal conveyance, two counts of criminal trespass, illegal possession/abuse of food stamps, and possession of marijuana, and he has an active warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Office.

Toney has previously been convicted of robbery with a gun specification, attempted burglary and probation violation.
