Musical performances are big here. (Meet the Tivoli Players.) There are social clubs, card clubs Canasta anyone? a mens club, and a club for the women. The golf club has about 50 active members though theres no course on-site, which actually makes it nice because theres no pricey maintenance.

They simply get all organized, then go play at one of the half-dozen public courses nearby.

And tennis?

This place loves their tennis, which might be why the courts are top notch. Six Har-Tru clay courts, and a tennis pro to boot.

Yep, this over-55 crowd likes to move around and make friends, which is probably why they bought in Tivoli Lakes of Palm Beach County. Located on the south side of Boynton Beach Boulevard just west of Jog Road, Tivoli Lakes isnt huge.

We didnt want a big community, said Rita Packman, who moved into Tivoli Lakes in the spring of 2008. We didnt want a country club.

So what Rita and Bruce Packman got was small(ish) community with well-constructed homes, plenty of amenities landscaping, pool, yard work, clubhouse, its all taken care of with your HOA fees and neighbors who have fallen in love with Florida retirement, although a few poor souls do still work.

Its just a nice group of people, said Packman, who bought their place over the phone after looking at the plans at a friends house.

Built by Devco Homes, Tivoli Lakes was ready for residents in April 2005, said HOA President Jeffrey Smith. Residents were able to pick from among eight pre-construction floor plans, and that gives Tivoli Lakes a custom look from the street. The touches are fantastic. (The sidewalks are all pavers.) And Realtor Valerie Kotz, who sells with Lang Realty, said clients love coming through the main gate and seeing all the lush landscaping.
