San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) April 29, 2013

Mr. Plumber Plumbing Co., a San Antonio plumbing company that has served homeowners since 1977, is introducing a fresh voice and a fresh perspective to the plumbing world. The company is excited to announce Allie Perez, who is currently the Mr. Plumber Plumbing Co. operations and business manager, is blogging about her experiences as she works toward becoming a licensed Master Responsible Plumber.

Every day I worked I wanted to learn more about plumbing, said Perez. I started going out on calls with the plumbers and learning how to fix many of the issues found in my own home.

Perez is particularly interested in helping women feel comfortable when calling a plumber to their home. The plumbing trade has seen a demand for women plumbers lately. But, despite that demand, the field is still incredibly male-dominated. Less than 1% of plumbing professionals are female.

Customers feel safe with a female plumber as most of our customers in the plumbing industry are women, said Perez.

Perez is now blogging each week under the Allie the Plumbers Apprentice moniker. She covers a number of topics, including DIY tips, terminology for women and common problems seen in the home. Homeowners can follow along at http://www.mrplumbersa.com/blog.
