The article, Welsh Water: 2bn to Fund Water and Sewerage Improvements, published 5th June by the BBC, revealed that the changes comes as part of plans to achieve the right balance between meeting customer needs and protecting the environment. The not for profit organisation serves more than three million people, and surveyed residents in Wales, Herefordshire and Deeside for their opinions on eight new projects set to take place between 2015 and 2021.

Some of the plans include tackling the issue of flooding at over 200 high-risk properties, as well as replacing 400km of water mains in Herefordshire, Cardiff and Newport as to prevent the risk of discoloured water to over 550,000 customers. Welsh Waters Executive Finance Director, Chris Jones explains that we want to invest to maintain and further improve our services for our domestic and commercial customers.

Renowned for their Bolton emergency plumbers, the team behind Emergency Plumber also operates throughout England and Wales, attending to a number of water and plumbing-related issues. As such, the latest news was of great interest to the team and a representative shares their enthusiasm for the proposed improvements.

It is encouraging to see improvements being made to the water supply for such a large area. With water and energy bills constantly on the rise, it is important that homeowners see some form of return and the eight proposed changes cover a wide base. We will be interested to see the reaction this receives from those who live here as well as whether it sparks other companies to make amendments to their services.

The team at Emergency Plumber continue to research and comment upon the latest industry news and updates.
