A global name in residential and commercial pest control is opening a Guam office.

Guam businessman Deepak Dewan confirmed yesterday his company has obtained a franchise to open an Orkin office on the island.

The franchise covers Guam and the rest of the Micronesia region, he said. The local franchise was secured by Dewan Worldwide Inc.

The Guam Orkin office will be located at Dewan Plaza in Tamuning, near the old Ben Franklin, he said.

The opening date will take place later this month, he said.

Dewan said Orkin is a nationally and globally recognized brand with more than a century of expertise and experience in the pest control industry. "Over 1.7 million customers trust Orkin to keep pests in their place -- and out of their homes and businesses," an Orkin company statement says.

Orkin states it is a leader in the industry in science and technology, constantly developing new ways to treat infestation responsibly.
