So, we #39;re going to talk about ladybugs, or as they #39;re known in the UK, ladybirds. Now, for the last few years, since about 2004, we #39;ve been getting meticulous species called harlequins. Now, these are a bit bigger than the ones that we get in the UK, naturally, and they #39;re predatory, they will feed on other ladybirds, they would also feed aphids and other insects. And basically, we often find, in the home, they congregate around windows, particularly around, you know, you get masses of them. Now, the best way to control them is get a vacuum cleaner out. Basically, just work around the edges; just literally pick them off in the vacuum. Once you #39;ve got them in the bag, best thing to do, empty the bag and bag it up, don #39;t leave them in there because there #39;s a chance that you can get a few escape and you might affect other parts of the house. So, like I say, easy solution with these little critters - get the vacuum out, work around. Like I say, you often find large numbers of them. Right, so we #39;ve got visual here and what you can see with these particular varieties of ladybug or ladybird, basically, it comes in lots of different shapes, well, not shapes but some in colour range.
