A motorist disqualified for dangerous driving was caught on a road miles from home collecting equipment for his window cleaning business.
Paul Simon Campbell, 29, had been banned and given a suspended prison sentence last year after leading police on a high speed chase around Colwyn Bay.
But he ignored the three-year disqualification and was caught in his Renault van by Cheshire Police near Chester heading towards North Wales.
Today a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court said he had been "stupid" and activated part of his suspended sentence and gave him a further term for driving while disqualified. He must serve a total of five months and two weeks in prison.
The court heard Campbell had been caught on September 28, 2019 after going the wrong way around a roundabout and being pursued by police.
Last February, Caernarfon Crown Court heard Campbell admit dangerous driving. He was given a 12-month prison term, suspended for 18 months, and banned from driving for three years.
But today the same court was told that Campbell had been stopped by Cheshire Police on the A550 near Chester heading towards North Wales on September 27, 2020.
He told the officers he was disqualified and had no insurance.
Campbell, of Kensington Avenue, Old Colwyn, said he ran his own window cleaning business and was collecting second hand equipment.
He was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified, having no insurance and failing to comply with a suspended sentence order.
Sarah Yates, defending, said Campbell's behaviour had been "unimpressive" and he is extremely remorseful.
She said: "He was trying to start a window cleaning business. In doing so he made the silly mistake of driving his vehicle to pick up some equipment." He has two children and a stepchild to support.
The judge told Campbell he was turning his life around and had made progress towards being rehabilitated.
She jailed Campbell for four months of his original sentence and a further one month and two weeks for driving while disqualified. There was no separate penalty for driving without insurance.

The Cleaning Robots market provides a detailed outlook on sales and trends forecast for 2020-2026:
As the world continues to deal with COVID-19, economies are moving into recession, under multiple adverse factors, the GDP of European and American countries in the second quarter suffered a historical contraction. At an annualized rate, the US GDP fell by 32.9% month on month, while the overall GDP of the euro zone fell by 12.1%.
Moreover, the economic prospects of Europe and the United States in the third quarter under the epidemic situation are hardly optimistic. The resumption of work and production not only brought economic data back, but also triggered a rebound in the epidemic situation. At present, the United States is still the 'epicenter' of the global epidemic. The total number of confirmed cases has exceeded 4.8 million, and the epidemic situation in some European countries has also rebounded. Affected by this, more than 20 states in the United States have announced the suspension or withdrawal of part of the economic restart plan. Britain and Italy have also decided to extend the state of emergency. The rebound of the epidemic situation has posed considerable risks to the economic prospects of Europe and the United States. In the second quarter of this year, US GDP shrank by 9.5% on a month on month basis, or 32.9% at an annual rate, the largest decline since the 1940s. Data show that the sharp decline in personal consumption is the main drag on the U.S. GDP growth in the second quarter.

Woman cleaning grave markers is oddly satisfying
Alicia Williams started cleaning old grave markers as a hobby. Hundreds of markers later, she has thousands of online fans entranced by her technique.
Humankind, USA TODAY
The bathroom can be one of the most germ-filled rooms in the house. Even when the room looks neat and orderly, germs can be lurking everywhere. Here are some strategies for giving the bathroom a good, old fashioned deep cleaning.
Start with the shower. Its best to start at the top with the showerhead. Fill a plastic bag with vinegar and place it over the showerhead, using a rubber band to hold it in place. Leaving it overnight, remove it in the morning and run the shower to rinse it. The showerhead should be as clean as a whistle. Clean the tub and tile with your bathroom cleaner of choice and wipe with a microfiber cloth. If you have a shower door(s), make a paste of baking soda and vinegar and rub the mix with a sponge on both sides of the door and inside the track. Let sit for 30 minutes to an hour and rinse. Put the shower curtain and liner in the washing machine on delicate with detergent and a small amount of bleach. Spin dry both items on low. Clean the shower curtain rings by soaking them in the sink with dish detergent and a splash of bleach. Now your shower will be fresh and clean.
Tile, countertop, walls and ceiling. A build-up of soap and even dead skin cells can be on all of these surfaces. Gross, but true. Spray all of these areas with an all-purpose cleaner. Turn on the shower and run the water until it causes steam for at least five minutes. Then shut off the shower and leave the room, closing the door behind you. Let the steam do its work for at least 20 minutes. Then wipe down all surfaces with a clean cloth. Use a microfiber mop to reach the high spots.
Dont forget the grout. Grout is porous and can be a haven for bacteria. Using a toothbrush and bleach, scrub all the grout, especially those that may be discolored. Let the bleach sit for a few minutes and rinse with hot water. For those that do not like to use bleach, hot water and vinegar will do the trick too, but leave it on for at least an hour before rinsing. Open the window to keep fresh air coming into the room, if you choose to use bleach.
Save the best for last (not really!) the toilet. Pour a full cup of baking soda into the toilet and let it sit for 10 minutes. Using a toilet brush (my favorite is one that IKEA sells for $1.99), scrub and clean all areas of the toilet and then flush. Dont forget to clean the toilet brush. Poor bleach over a sink onto the brush works best, but if youd prefer not to use bleach, vinegar and hot water can be a suitable substitute. Using a Lysol wipe, clean the seat and all of the outer parts of the toilet, including the base. Then wash down with a rag with hot water and dry.
Wash the hand towels. Its best to wash your hand towels on the sanitizing setting, if your washing machine has that setting, especially during the pandemic. Replace hand towels every few days to avoid the spread of bacteria. Clean the towel bar as well.
Having a clean bathroom helps keep bacteria at bay and you and your family healthy!

Growing out your beard for the new year doesn't mean that you have to go full scruff -- a beard trimmer can keep things even and clean up around the edges. Since I can't grow my own facial hair, I enlisted the help of my boyfriend, who's been proudly rocking a full beard since 2015, to come up with a list of the best beard trimmers for the job.
As the inventors of the first electric hair clippers, Wahl certainly knows what they're doing when it comes to grooming. This trimmer, which is adjustable to six positions between 1.5 and 13mm, comes with four interchangeable heads -- a precision detailer, a dual shaver, a stubble blade and a T-blade -- as well as six guides; three for stubble and three for precision trimming. The trimming blades are finely ground to produce finer teeth that give precise results for all trim lengths.
And with a single charge delivering three and a half hours of cutting time, this beard trimmer is the most low-maintenance of the bunch.
The Remington Vacuum Beard & Stubble Trimmer 6000 is for anyone who's ever unsuccessfully tried to clean up all of those little trimmed beard hairs around the sink, or for anyone who's been yelled at for those unsuccessful attempts.
With a high-velocity motor and fan blades, this beard trimmer has an adjustable length comb, 11 length settings from 2 to 18mm and a vacuum system that captures up to 95% of trimmed hairs as you cut. The stainless steel blades are also self-sharpening, so when you use the trimmer, it's like the first time, every time.
If you're rocking a short beard this Movember, the Brio Axis Beard and Hair Trimmer is for you. Designed for stubble and tight beards of up to 6mm, this ceramic-bladed trimmer is ideal for cutting straight lines and getting into difficult-to-navigate facial areas while eliminating the friction that causes bumps and razor burn.
It comes with three removable guards, a cleaning brush and lubricating oil for a smooth glide across your face.
If you're bearding on a budget, Gillette has you covered with their all-purpose Styler -- a trimmer, edger and shaver all in one.
The package includes three comb attachments (2mm, 4mm and 6mm) that you can use to customize your beard length and a shaving attachment that works with any Gillette 5-blade or SkinGuard razor refills, so when it comes time for a close shave again, you're ready to go. The trimmer itself is also waterproof and shower-safe.
Combining precision and portability, the Braun Beard Trimmer BT7240 is one of the most efficient, and fastest charging, beard trimmers out there -- just 1 hour of charging delivers 100 minutes of cordless trimming.
The trimmer comes with short-, medium- and long-beard trimming combs from 0.5 to 20mm and has a precision dial that lets you choose from 39 different length settings in 0.5 mm increments. It also has AutoSensing technology that reads your beard thickness 13 times per second and adjusts the power of its motor automatically to ensure an even trim without a lot of effort.
The Wahl Aqua Blade Rechargeable beard trimmer is a multi-purpose tool that you can use on a wet beard or in the shower. The grooming kit comes with 12 comb attachments that let you maintain beard lengths from 1.5 to 25mm, two precision detail attachments for sharp edging, and a nose trimming attachment for cleaning up rogue nose hairs. And everything is neatly packed into a soft travel case that you can take with you on the go.
Remington brings advanced technology into their Smart Beard Trimmer, an intuitive tool that memorizes your previous beard length settings and senses the level and thickness of your facial hair to adjust the motor and trimming speed as you trim.
The motorized comb is fully controlled by a digital touch screen and programmed with 175 different length settings that adjust in 0.1 mm increments from 0.4 mm to 18mm. And with its lithium power, it has cordless capabilities that last for 50 minutes after a full charge.

Roy Swarzak
By Isaac Ray
A man was arrested after falsely identifying himself as a contractor and accepting thousands of dollars to remodel a Coral Springs home, never returning to finish the work.
The victim told Coral Springs Police they hired a man named Roy Swarzak, 64, of Pompano Beach, in July of 2020 to remodel two bathrooms in their home located at the 4100 block of NW 88th Ave. The contract, dated July 17, stated that Swarzak agreed to perform the jobs for $8,000, of which $4,000 was to be paid upfront. Records show Swarzak cashed a check for $4,000 in advance of his work.
The victim, who lives in New York, had her sister hire Swarzak and oversee the alleged botched remodeling. She said he began working on both bathrooms soon after receiving his down payment. The work, however, was quickly deemed unsatisfactory, and Swarzak never returned to complete the job.
The victim provided officers with photos of her unfinished bathrooms as well as sworn testimony and identification of Swarzak.
Upon investigation, records obtained by CSPD showed Swarzak never applied for any permits and never has held a contactors license. After concluding their investigation into Swarzaks work at the home, claims, and background, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 7, Swarzak was arrested and later released on a $2,500 bond.

The Instructional Planning and Budget Team voted 22-17 in favor of a $800,000 plan to remodel the E3 quad on Jan. 12.
The budget includes installing 3D printing software and turning one of the classrooms into a lab. It supports a proposed two-year adaptive manufacturing certificate program, which would allow students to start a job with an annual salary of $68,000.
The salary estimate prompted faculty representative Mayra Cruz to raise concerns about how the program would close equity gaps.
We want to focus on how this allocation would help advance these opportunities [for marginalized groups] historically, and not just one year back, Cruz said.
She said she wanted to hone in on which groups this development would affect.
I think weve already [gone] up and above on helping many different groups, said Mark Appio, department chair of Design and Manufacturing Technologies. This is another step on that work being more effective for members of those groups to get higher paying jobs.
Appio has worked with underrepresented high school students on other adaptive manufacturing projects.
These programs have been highly successful, since theyre very hands-on, Appio said. They have always been extremely strong in representing students in these underrepresented communities all over the state.
Randy Bryant, dean of CTE and workforce development, said that IPBT hadnt taken on this kind of manufacturing project of this budgetal size in the past two years.
DMT is the only program thats come forward with a project, other than maintenance funding that is only $60,000, Bryant said.
Lisa Markus, a faculty representative, discussed the potential popularity of these programs.
We also need to consider student demand for these courses, Markus said. If I could get a job with only a certificate and make $123,000, Im not sure why Im teaching.

The report on Commercial Lighting market covers exhaustive analysis on:-
Thecommercial lighting marketis projected to reach USD 21.8 billion by 2025 from USD 8.2 billion in 2020; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 21.5% during the forecast period. The most significant factors driving the growth of this market are the ongoing and upcoming smart city projects in the developing countries, growing focus of governments worldwide on energy consumption, increasing acceptance of standard protocols for lighting control systems, escalating demand for LED lights and luminaires for use in outdoor applications, and surging use of integrated lighting control systems. Rapid transition from traditional lighting to connected lighting solutions and increased adoption of PoE-based and solar lighting system are major opportunities for the commercial lighting market.
Impact of COVID-19 on Commercial lighting Market:
The outbreak of COVID-19 has significantly impacted the lighting industry owing to the lockdown across many countries and disruptions in the supply chain. Thus, most of the lighting OEMs and integrators are witnessing a shortage of electronic components such as chips and LED drivers. This has created an imbalance, resulting in a demand-supply gap and an increase in the prices of lighting products. For instance, Signify has announced a temporary price hike on all LED and lamp electronics as the costs in its logistics chain is on the rise due to the pandemic. Disruption in the supply chain would create an imbalance in the demand-supply equation and create pressure across entities in the smart lighting ecosystem.
Market Dynamics:
Driver: Ongoing and upcoming smart city projects in developing countries
Presently, there are several ongoing smart city projects across the world that offer opportunities to technology companies, technology service providers, utility providers, and consulting companies. The efficient use of electricity is one of the primary goals of smart city infrastructures. Smart cities are considered as the driving factor for sustainable economic growth in a country. Energy efficiency, the sustainability of resources, and advancements in digital technologies have led to the rise of the smart cities concept. The smart lighting application is expected to play a significant role in achieving sustainability and energy savings.
Restraint: High initial costs
The initial cost of smart lightings, as well as the cost of integration and installation services, is high. Smart lightings comprise hardware components such as dimmers, switches, sensors, control systems, and software. Hence, the installation cost of smart lighting is higher than that of conventional lightings. This is primarily due to the requirement for highly expensive software, control systems, and LED light sources for smart lighting solutions. This hampers the adoption of smart lighting control systems.
Opportunity: Rapid transition from traditional lighting to connected lighting solutions
In recent years, there has been a rapid shift from conventional lighting systems to connected lighting systems due to various advantages offered by connected lighting solutions, such as increased energy efficiency, improved ambiance at the workplace, and cost savings in the long run. Connected lighting devices are well known for their energy efficiency. These devices consume less power and have a long life, thereby reducing maintenance and replacement costs. Most of the connected lighting solutions consist of wireless sensors and switches that provide flexibility in lighting control operations, whereas conventional lighting solutions do not have these features. The introduction of wireless lighting controls has boosted the market for retrofit lighting systems, which, in turn, has increased the demand for lighting control systems. Wireless lighting control solutions have not only reduced the use of wires but also helped avoid reconstruction of existing buildings.
Challenge: Interoperability issues between different network components
At present, the biggest concern in the lighting control ecosystem is the availability of solutions with multiple interoperable technologies. End-users need to choose a suitable lighting control solution from a wider range of available solutions but, the lack of uniform standards makes it challenging to integrate the available solutions. The incompatibility of various components and the lack of interoperability create problems for end-users. Traditional lighting control systems usually consist of hardware and software manufactured by the same manufacturer, whereas different manufacturers develop controls in connected lighting solutions. This creates interoperability issues, causing problems for communication between various network components of a lighting system. Hence, there is a need to establish standard protocols to develop compatible products. Several organizations such as the Connected Lighting Alliance (TCLA) and the ZigBee Alliance are trying to standardize the protocols used in connected lighting technology so that luminaires could be used to collect and share data for analytics purposes.
Based on end-use application, the indoor segment held the largest share of the commercial lighting market in 2019.
The market for indoor smart lighting is expected to hold the larger share, owing to the high demand in commercial space. In these applications, smart lighting is an essential element in creating a modern workspace that attracts customers with changing preferences. It continues helping owners to create a flexible working environment, reduce expenses, improve work efficiencies, and create quality lighting that enhances the occupant experience. Hence, the adoption of smart lighting in commercial spaces is gaining more traction and has a high opportunity in the near future due to smart city initiatives by governments across the world.

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KBS, one of the largest investors in premier commercial real estate in the nation, announced that it has completed a series of renovations to Granite Tower, a 31-story Class A office building in Downtown Denver, Colorado. Granite Tower is owned by KBS REIT II.
The improvements serve to activate the buildings street-level space to invite interaction with Downtown Denvers local community, in addition to providing a full slate of new indoor/outdoor amenities to enhance tenants experience at the property in preparation for a post-pandemic environment, according to Giovanni (Gio) Cordoves, Western regional president for KBS.
Our goal with the renovations to Granite Tower was to deliver office space that serves the needs of todays top tenants, says Cordoves. The renovations we have completed at this iconic property enhance its appearance and functionality while increasing its value significantly in a vital and thriving central business district.
As Denvers downtown core has boomed, companies have come to expect high-end amenities in their office space in order to attract and retain top talent for the long haul, according to Tim Helgeson, asset manager for Granite Tower and senior vice president for KBS.
New class-A commercial offerings like Granite Tower are redefining amenity norms and luring long-term tenants from aging assets, says Helgeson. KBS was astute enough to find the right time to implement the recent upgrades to this highly visible and desirable property and redefine its image in the eyes of office users, Denver residents and visitors. The renovations give both tenants and pedestrians in this market even more reason to return to the building time and again once the pandemic is behind us.
To complete the renovations to Granite Tower, KBS tapped architecture, engineering, planning and interiors firm DLR Group and architectural firm Alan Colussy Architecture, LLC to align the property competitively with nearby comparable assets, according to Jessie Johnson, architect and principal with DLR Group. The upgrades included:
After these improvements, what was formerly dark and dated at Granite Towers street level is now a new, modernized experience that is light, bright, and expansively streamlined, says Johnson. The building is now open and welcoming to pedestrians, visitors and tenants as well as visually pleasing from the interior and exterior.
The perception of this property has fundamentally changed with the recent renovations, according to Alan Colussy, principal member of Alan Colussy Architecture, LLC.
We delivered an expansion in the lobby, creating a lantern effect so that during the daytime it captures light and at night time it takes on an internal illumination that allows it to glow and come alive, says Colussy. The new amenities afford the building a clean, crisp and contemporary look that supports the propertys updated functionality. The changes also truly resonate with tenants, who increasingly bike to work and can now enter the building securely and go up to the new fitness room to shower without having to use the main entrance.
Colussy adds that he enjoyed working with KBS on the project. The company is so knowledgeable about market trends. We were dealing with very educated project managers who knew what they were doing. Its refreshing to work with that skill set. KBS also recognized the opportunity for us to do these renovations while many of its tenants were working remotely due to COVID-19, which enabled us to complete the project more quickly and efficiently than it would have in a typical year.
Originally built in 1984 as part of a four-tower block and formerly known as Stellar Plaza and Plaza Tower, Granite Tower today covers two city blocks and features 593,527 square feet of office space. The LEED Gold-certified property, which contains a 774-space, three-level parking structure with 615 spaces dedicated to its office tenants, is located a couple of minutes walk from the Ritz Carlton, in the center of Downtown Denver development, at the gateway to Denvers Lower Downtown Historic District (LoDo), and with close proximity to Coors Field and the redeveloped Union Station.
Engineering services for the renovations were completed by Columbine Engineering for MEP and Martin Martin for structural and civil services.
Granite Tower is located at 1099 18th Street in Denver, Colorado.
