NORTH PHILADELPHIA - A neighborhood dispute turned fatal after an 83-year-old woman was stabbed to death outside her own home, and her neighbor charged with murder.
Isaiah Rahatt, 47, was arrested after police say he stabbed the elderly woman in the neck, and shot her with a BB gun Wednesday night.
The woman, identified as Dolores Robinson, was pronounced dead on her porch on the 2900 block of North 27th Street.
She was found with one fatal stab wound to the neck, and BB gun wounds on her hand and head.
MORE HEADLINES:
"What we were told, she seemed like a very outstanding individual. She was 83-years-old, apparently in good health. This is definitely tragic," Inspector Ernest Ransom, with the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit, said. "We do believe there was an on-going issue with this individual and the entire block."
Police say the deadly incident began when the suspect followed the woman inside her home, then a struggle ensued.
The struggle eventually ended up on the porch, where Robinson was stabbed to death.
Police have yet to release any details about what caused the struggle.
However, they did state that there has been an ongoing issue between Rahatt and the entire block. Details of the issue are also unclear.
Rahatt has 13 prior arrests, including three cases of aggravated assault, according to police.
Police confirm they had calls to Rahatts home before the stabbing and online records show a lengthy criminal history.
Neighbor Crystal Allen Gray says they called police about Rahatt and his BB gun last summer.
"The cops looked at the BB gun, gave it back to home," Allen Gray said. "He shot my husband in the forehead with the BB gun. My husband still has the BB in his forehead, still, at this day. Nothing was done. Im very pissed at the fact that it took this."
He is now charged with murder for the stabbing death of Robinson.

When we see a colored light on someone's front porch in Ohio, we might think thata colored light is merely decoration. Changing colors for certain holidays like Christmas or Halloween is also why porch light colors change. But a green porch light has a more significant meaning than just representing a holiday. And there's a good reason to change them to green for good.
There's a growing trend to not only use colored lightsfor home dcor but to catch your attention for a bigger purpose. Red porch lights bringawareness to American Heart Month.Pink porch lights have also been used recently as a symbol of breast cancer awareness. And one color trend has been catching on all over the U.S., and it's anotherincredible cause we can all get behind in the Buckeye State as well.
While green porch lights are widely used to celebrate Christmas and St.Patrick's Day across the U.S., they're also a great way to show our support for ourU.S. service members. It symbolizes gratitude and helps uplift the spirit of those who have selflessly dedicated themselves to defending our nation. Seeing an entire community light up can remind our U.S. service members that they are not alone in their journey. It's a simple and effective way to let them know their sacrifices are acknowledged and appreciated year-round. Hopefully, we see more Ohio homes light up in green for our brave heroes.

The name says it all Grizzly was born to combine maximum spaciousness with a sturdy, reliable structure that can withstand harsh outdoor conditions. The Grizzly tiny (which doesn't feel tiny at all) stays true to the original purpose of tiny homes designed to be a comfy, homely alternative to RVs and campers.
Photo: Great Lakes Tiny Homes
This mammoth tiny home is big on everything and designed for those who want to enjoy the outdoors with their entire family or group of friends. It's the biggest and most voluminous park model designed by Great Lakes Tiny Homes, a family-run tiny house building company that draws its inspiration from the great Midwest outdoors. The Grizzly boasts more than 42.5 feet in length (almost 13 meters), which is twice as much as standard tiny homes, coupled with a generous width of more than 11 feet (3.4 meters).
As a result, this spacious dwelling can offer both a large loft and a main-floor master bedroom, in addition to a big living room area. All in all, the Grizzly can easily accommodate up to six people, which is why it's so great for family weekend getaways. It's also fully equipped to become the full-time home of a large family looking to downsize and enjoy the benefits of mobility without sacrificing the comfort of a classic home.

The best part is that this cabin on wheels isn't a tiny place with a huge porch. Its roomy interior is just as generous. The main floor room, designed as a master bedroom, enjoys full privacy. It's separate from the rest of the house and big enough to include a practical bed with hidden storage. A full-size closet provides additional storage. It's a rustic bedroom, so don't expect anything too fancy. Still, easy access and privacy are enough to be considered "luxury" when it comes to tiny living.
The loft bedroom also benefits from an open-work handrail stretching from side to side for safety, comfort, and privacy. Large windows on each side add luminosity and fresh air. It's accessed via a simple staircase that almost seems hidden because of its discrete placement. That extra space between the bedroom and the kitchen was also used to integrate a washer/dryer hookup. The bathroom comes with a shower stall, a toilet, and a large sink. What stands out is the generous storage in the form of several cabinets and an overhead medicine cabinet in the corner. There's also a large window for proper ventilation. The pine woodwork adds a nice rustic touch to this simple but well-equipped bathroom.

On the other hand, there's no dedicated dining area or a snack bar. Still, the lounge section is roomy enough to accommodate a more versatile setup. The Grizzly is a great home when it comes to spending time with loved ones and entertaining guests, something that much more compact versions often lack.
Combining a roomy two-bedroom interior with a large porch seems to be a winning formula. It takes Grizzly from a simple house on wheels to a homely outdoor haven, but everything comes at a cost. The Grizzly tiny comes with an $85,400 price tag for the basic version. If affordability is the primary concern, the Great Lakes Tiny Homes range includes plenty of other options.

More Green porch lights have been popping up on Massachusetts homes lately. There's one house that I pass by every morning in Pittsfield that has a green porch light year-round. In addition, I have seen porch lights in other areas of Massachusetts including Westfield and Springfield. What do these green porch lights mean?
Other than the fact that they look cool, one reason that people are switching out their regular bulbs for green ones is to show support for our military veterans. You may see more green porch lights pop up around Memorial Day in May and Veteran's Day in November but some people want to show support for the military year-round. It would be great to see more of these green porch lights on display specifically for this reason. Another reason you may see more green porch lights pop up soon is people display them as a way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.
You can get green porch lights from hardware stores and online. In addition, some stores sell multi-colored light bulbs with a remote control. This type of bulb would be convenient if you wanted to show support for other causes and holidays. For example, a blue porch light shows support for law enforcement. A red porch light is used to show support for our firefighters not to mention some people display them on Valentine's Day.

I am not one who is prone to follow fads. As a matter of fact, it takes a lot for me to do what other people do. This suggestion about Missouri porch lights is an exception. There's a good reason why many are changing their porch lights to green and I believe that is a great idea. I also believe they should stay green, too.
Porch light colors can mean many things. A typical white porch light is meant for lighting (shocking, I know). Others turn their porch lights to purple to show support for those suffering from domestic abuse.
I have a colleague in Texas bring up an idea that I think should be put into practice in Missouri, too. Let's turn all of our porch lights green.
No, it has nothing to do with Christmas. Bob Vila mentions that green porch lights show support for US military veterans. There's even a Twitter/X hashtag GreenLightAVet.
I do tend to ignore internet trends, but this is one case where I'll gladly jump on board. Many believe that enough isn't done to support our military veterans and I'm definitely in that camp. Just making a change to a green porch light is a quick and relatively inexpensive way to show visual support for those that have or currently serve our country.
How great would it be to drive through town and see the streets lit up green? Let's make it happen.

If you're driving around your neighborhood, you might notice a few interesting lights. Some locals have started changing thecolor that emits from their porch light these days.
No, it's not for that one green holiday that's just around the corner. Saint Patrick's Day has nothing to do with why Iowans are lighting up their porches with a green glow.
It's actually meant to honor some of the bravest people in America...
...our veterans.
According to the official website for the Association of the United States Army, the green porch light is meant to be a sign of appreciation for United States military veterans.
It's not a seasonal decoration, this green light can be up all year round. It can be seen a bit more often around Veterans Day in November and Memorial Day in May.
President Bush Observes Veterans Day
At first glance you'd think the meaning behind the Green is pretty simple, right? It's representative of the camouflage that members of the U.S. Army wear. At least that's what I thought.
But it's just a bit deeper than that...
According to officials, the green symbolizeshope, renewal and well-being.
The term "greenlight" also means to activate forward movement.
The Association of the United States Army officials say, setting up your porchlight to glow green is "intended to spark a national conversation regarding the recognition of veterans, and "greenlight" them forward as valued members of our communities."
So, even if you don't have a veteran in your life, this could be an easy way to honor those who have served all year round!
