What fireworks are legal, illegal in Oregon? What to know as Fourth of July nears – OregonLive

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Bottle rockets. Firecrackers. Roman candles.

Such fireworks are synonymous with the Fourth of July. But it's against the law to light them without a permit in Oregon, and scofflaws can face sizeable fines.

With July 4th less than two weeks away and firework retail sales season now open here's how Oregonians can have a safe and legal blast on America's birthday:

    Illegal fireworks

Unless you have a permit, popular displays such as bottle rockets, firecrackers and Roman candles are against Oregon law, according to the state fire marshal's office.

The office says that without a permit, Oregon law prohibits the possession, sale or use of any firework that explodes, flies into the air or travels more than 12 feet horizontally on the ground.

All of us share the responsibility to use only Oregon consumer legal fireworks and use them carefully, State Fire Marshal Jim Walker said in a statement. Please also consider your neighbors and their pets before deciding on when and where you choose to light legal fireworks.

Selling or using fireworks is illegal in Vancouver, and they may be used only on July 4 in unincorporated Clark County. Anyone celebrating the Fourth elsewhere in Washington should check local fireworks policies.

    Legal fireworks

So what fireworks are legal in Oregon? Not many.

Sparklers, smoke devices and fountains are a good place to start. Wheels and ground spinners are OK, too.

And if you happen to enjoy those little poppers that make loud noises when you throw them on the ground, theyre perfectly legal, as well.

Use common sense and keep a close eye on kids who are using fireworks.

    Fireworks graphic

    Fireworks and public lands

Areas where fireworks are forbidden include federal and state forestlands, as well as Oregon state beaches, parks and campgrounds.

So if you're planning to celebrate with a camping trip or visit to the beach, it's probably best to leave the fireworks behind.

When in doubt, check with local authorities to see what fire restrictions are in your area.

    Penalties

We'll let the fire marshal's office take this one:

"Officials may seize illegal fireworks and charge offenders with a class B misdemeanor, which could result in a fine of up to $2,500 per violation and a civil penalty of up to $500. Those who misuse fireworks or allow fireworks to cause damage are liable and may be required to pay fire suppression costs or other damage. Parents are also liable for fireworks damage caused by their children."

    Fireworks from other states

Theyre illegal, too. Fireworks used in Oregon must be bought here and from permitted retail fireworks outlets.

    Fires

Fireworks can spark wildland blazes, as evidenced by the 2017 Eagle Creek fire a nearly 49,000-acre wildfiresparked by a teen recklessly tossing a firecrackerin the Columbia River Gorge.

The fire marshals office says 1,173 fireworks-related fires were reported by local fire agencies in Oregon during the five years ending with 2019. Those blazes resulted in over $4.9 million in property loss and contents damage.

Blazes caused by fireworks reported by those fire agencies also resulted in one death and 36 injuries during the same time period, the fire marshals office said.

Those figures dont include fires on federal or Oregon Department of Forestry land, for example, according to the fire marshals office.

Starting in July, risks for wildfire in many parts of Oregon will be high, Walker said. Fireworks can also start structural fires that threaten lives and property, as we have seen in past years.

Authorities have predicted much of Oregon will haveabove-normal wildfire potentialin July, August and September.

    Pets

Your pup probably hates the Fourth of July.

The booms, blasts and lights that humans enjoy tend to terrify our furry friends. And the heat doesn't help.

The Humane Society of the United States advises owners to keep their pets away from fireworks, ask a vet for assistance if their pets are scared by fireworks, protect pets from heatstroke and get them a collar and identification tag. (Even indoor pets should have tags in case they try to escape the noise of fireworks, according to the nonprofit.)

    Public fireworks displays

The coronavirus outbreak has prompted the cancellations of popular fireworks shows including Seasides annual Fourth of July fireworks display and the Vancouver Fireworks Spectacular. PortlandsWaterfront Blues Festival, which features a fireworks display, has also been canceled.

Authorities are concerned that people may take fireworks to areas where they wouldnt normally spend their Fourth of July, given the cancellations of large holiday displays, and could start fires by lighting the fireworks, according to a fire marshals office spokesman.

Check back later this week for a list of whats open and closed on the Fourth.

    Fireworks photos

Most of us carry a camera in our pocket. And many of us will point our cameras or cellphones skyward next week in search of a perfect shot for social media.

Glastonbury 2020: Recreate the festival experience at home with these essentials – The Independent

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

It's been 50 years since Michael and Gene Eavis first opened their Worthy Farm fields to a lucky 1,000 music lovers who paid just 1 per ticket, with Marc Bolans band T Rex taking that inaugural year by storm.

Glastonbury festival has since evolved to one of the biggest in the world, with a site roughly the same size as Oxford city centre and the infrastructure to match.

Over the past 50 years, it has become a truly global event, reaching a broadcast audience of almost 21 million and attracting some of the worlds biggest stars Jay-Z, Adele, Beyonc and David Bowie. Most of them performed on the Pyramid Stage the main stage which is built around a tree Eavis great grandfather planted when he first bought the land.

The joy of Glastonbury is that you never know where it might take you you can stumble into a circus tent and learn to trapeze; you can bump into people youve not seen in years or make new friends; you can unwind at the Healing Fields and get a massage. And its these experiences that stay with you.

While this years festival was originally due to take place this weekend (25-29 June), the annual event has been cancelled due to coronavirus, along with other festivals.

And while were under no illusion that you can truly recreate the atmosphere at home, unless of course you have a 900-acre farm, if you lower your expectations just a little, theres still fun to be had.

The anniversary of an event that is so symbolic of British pop culture will not go unmarked. In lieu of fields, organisers Michael and his daughter Emily Eavis have announced a virtual line-up.

The BBC is planning a multi-platform Glastonbury Experience in light of the cancelled festival, with virtual events taking place across the five days when the event was due to go ahead.

We will never get back the lost Glastonbury the festival would have seen Taylor Swift, Diana Ross, Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney play sets, which is a pretty good 50th birthday line-up.

But, with a little bit of ingenuity, heres how you can recreate the festival vibes from the comfort of your own home and garden, without the risk of encountering Worthy Farms mud or loos. Really, its a VIP experience.

From speakers and garden decorations to food and drink, these are the must-haves you need to mark the occasion and make the most of the weekend.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections. This revenue helps us to fund journalism across The Independent.

"Glasthomebury Festival" launched as an initiative to raise money for charities including Mind, NSPCC and Refuge. It's encouraging people to mark the occasion by setting up a tent from home, raising funds and having some fun. So, pitch up your tent and prepare for a sunny weekend of celebrating in your garden.

If youve got ample space in your garden and are planning future camping trips, the Vango stargrove air 600XL (Vango, 725) topped our review of the best family tents thanks to its multiple rooms, spaciousness and dark bedrooms.

If youre looking for something a little smaller, the Coleman cobra 2 (Amazon, 92.80), came out highly in our backpacking tents round-up. Our reviewer said it was a durable and comfortable tent at a really reasonable price. What better way to prepare for next years festival season than by giving it a trial run in your garden this weekend?

If you want a real glamping experience, invest in an air bed. This Coleman extra durable double air bed (Amazon, 60.17), topped our guide to air beds, with our reviewer praising its durability, comfort, price and all-round versatility.

In lieu of fields, Glastonburys 50th anniversary will be marked by the BBC pumping out umpteen landmark sets from the festivals archive across its BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds platforms. Of course, the most essential part of recreating the Glasto experience is the music itself.

To combine sound quality and portability, opt for a Bluetooth speaker. Not only do best ones pack a punch when it comes to sound, but if theres a speck of rain, you can take it indoors and carry on the party. The Sonos move (Argos, 399) came out best in our review of the best portable speakers.

Sonos is a powerhouse when it comes to wifi streaming audio, so its no surprise that this Bluetooth speaker offers powerful sound. Although it is portable, our reviewer noted that its also big and fairly heavy, which contributes to the perfectly crisp vocals and solid bass.

For something a little kinder to your pocket, the JBL clip 3 (Amazon, 37.95) was highly regarded, as it offers sound that exceeds what its price point or size would suggest. It also has a strong water resistance, so if the rain does come and you want to really get in the Glasto spirit, you can stay outdoors without the fear of it getting damaged.

If youre planning to watch the Glastonbury Experience line-up outside, then consider a projector for a full-screen display and immersive festival vibe.

For something portable, lightweight and affordable, theres no better option than this Toptro mini projector (Amazon, 119.99). Delivering clear images in 1080P full HD, it is also equipped with a hifi stereo system and four-way surround sound.

Set up your screen easily with a plain white bed sheet. Tape it to a wall or hang it from a washing line. If the bottom touches the floor, secure it by placing heavy objects to prevent the breeze from distorting Lizzos performance from the archive.

When dusk hits, lighting up your outdoor space is essential for keeping festival goers spirits up. Whether draped across the length of your garden or alongside an exterior wall, festoon lights are a reliable choice for adding ambience.

The Lights 4 Fun multi coloured LED connectable festoon lights (Lights 4 Fun, 30) were a clear winner in our guide to outdoor lighting. Coming in configurations ranging from 5m to 150m, simply link up each 5m piece to suit your needs.

Our reviewer praised them for being user-friendly, high quality, versatile and affordable. And while you might not be in a crowd by the Pyramid Stage watching Paul McCartney, these will bring a festival glow to your garden.

You could even add this Rex London multi coloured spotty washable cotton bunting (Rex London, 5.95) for further festival feels.

If you want to decorate indoors too, Kolpops battery-powered indoor fairy lights (Amazon, 11.99) will add just the right amount of glow.

If you don't want your evening to run short when it gets cold, prolong the fun with a chiminea. Not only are they great for warmth, but they will also add an atmospheric glow.

This La Hacienda contemporary steel chiminea (Argos, 80), topped our review of the best chimineas.

Our reviewer praised the expansive opening" as it meant that they could "feed the fire with three or four sizeable logs and then sit back and enjoy the heat without having to worry about it going out. Offering excellent heat output with minimal management, you cant go wrong.

Another important aspect of a festivals VIP area (after nice toilets and showers) is the seating.

Recreate the true glamping experience with Outwell casilda XL chairs (Leisure Outlet, 48.99).

This chair was praised for its sheer luxury in our guide to camping chairs. The steel frame is strong and stable, and it folds up easily and has a sturdy strap, which keeps it together in its bag.

For a no-frills picnic blanket that has all the elements you need, opt for the Regatta matio picnic rug (Regatta, 7.95). In our round-up of picnic blankets, our tester said: Its comfortable and soft with a brushed fleecy polyester top, a thin foam layer to protect against painful stones and has a tough PVA back to guard against damp."

To get the real festival experience at home, forego making food for the weekend and opt for a takeaway. For the ultimate treat (justify it because you didnt pay for a ticket) try a fine dining restaurant.

For fried chicken lovers, try 12:51, it's offering pick-up as well as delivery service for north, east and central London addresses in a 3.5 radius via Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

The original buttermilk truffle burger with fried chicken and truffle mayo is not to be missed. And for vegetarians, wed recommend the cauliflower cheeseburger in golden breadcrumbs with butter pickles.

Alternatively, if youre looking to fill your time in between acts, recreate your favourite eateries at home with a DIY meal kit. Best-loved burger joint Patty & Bun is offering lockdown DIY kits and they are faultless.

The meat option (Patty & Bun, 25), features four of its signature beef patties, bacon, brioche buns, a squeezy bottle of smokey mayo, cheese slices and homemade pickled and smokey onions. Just buy lettuce and tomato to finish it off.

While the vegan kit (Patty & Bun, 25), contains four plant-based patties with vegan bacon, mayo and cheese along with buns, caramelised and pickled onions. Delivery is 7 and its available nationwide for both these options.

If you fancy getting your grill on, our ultimate barbecue guide will tell you everything there is to know from the best equipment to the recipes to follow.

While nothing screams a festival like a lukewarm tinny or bottle of wine, this is a VIP experience, so dont fall short by not drinking the best booze.

For a truly great canned cocktail, try Bloody Drinks bloody classic (Sainsbury's, 3), of which our reviewer said: if you think bar-standard tinned cocktails arent possible, the bloody classic will defy your expectations.

It also acts a great hangover cure should you need it, but make sure you serve it over ice.

For the gin fanatics, the joy of hosting Glasto at home means you can make your G&T exactly how you like it. If you want to buy from a local British distiller, theres no shortage of places to try.

Taking the top spot in our guide to the best British gins is Salcombe Gins rose sainte maire, 41.4%, 70cl (Salcombe Gin, 40). It's best served neat over ice or with a premium Indian tonic water (Tesco, 1.91) and a slice of strawberry or lemon peel.

If youre sundowner of choice is beer stock up with the Honestbrew party box (Honestbrew, 59.90) and enjoy all weekend. It's a carefully curated case of 24 beers from independent brands, such as India Pale Ale, Wild Beer Co and Northern Monk.

Theres a wealth of things to do other than listening to music when at Glastonbury. To truly recreate the experience of being at the Healing Fields; the festivals chill-out field dedicated to mind, body and spirit, try an online meditation session (Headspace, free).

If you and your family usually frequent the kidzfield when attending the festival, theres no reason why your children should miss out on a fun weekend. Keep the whole family entertained with a new set of garden games.

The Decathlon geologic soft archery set (Decathlon, 34.99), won the top spot in our guide to the best outdoor games. Suitable for the whole family, it can easily be adjusted to adapt the difficulty by changing the distances.

Each year the festival also raises money for Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid (the Joint Charities teams) these are not only charity partners, but also major benefactors of the festival.

In 2019, the event raised 3m for good causes. So, this years cancellation means there will be shortfalls in charity budgets. To counter this as much as possible, merchandise is being sold on the website for all wishful festival goers.

This hope shines brightest charity tote (Glastonbury Festival shop, 8) is particularly lovely and will see you through nicely to next year's festival. All of the profits from the range will support the work of the Join Charities team.

To honour 50 years of activism, Greenpeace hosted a virtual festival on Saturday (20 June) that you can catch up on over the weekend.

I turned our home into a playground during lockdown: one parent’s guide to keeping kids happy indoors – The Guardian

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Lockdown meant reimagining the home through new eyes (picture posed by models).Photograph: wundervisuals/Getty Images

Before any of us had heard the phrase lockdown, my parenting style was very much of the Lets go variety. Lets go ... to the park/cinema/museum/anywhere that will get us out of this small flat and make us feel like were not stifling your childhoods with our inability to afford a garden.

As Spain and Italy locked down with draconian measures, we could feel the panic rising: how would my partner, Steven, and I keep seven-year-old Betty and 18-month-old Rosa occupied with no childcare, no family or friends, no private outside space and no throw-money-at-the-problem excursions while trying to hold down our own jobs?

The answer unfolded during the first week of lockdown when I told my mum how frustrated Betty was by Hurricane Rosa, the toddler who destroys everything in her wake, shoving small toys in her mouth at superfast speed. Mum suggested we empty Bettys higher bookshelves so she could use them to play with her Sylvanian Families in peace. For the uninitiated, these are toy figures of rabbits, bears and mice who have homes, furniture whole communities in fact.

What started as a basic school soon evolved into an ambitious recreation of Malory Towers-meets-Hogwarts, with a dormitory, head teachers office, infirmary, canteen and swimming pool complete with tap water. As Betty became ever more invested, so did I, and together we became increasingly imaginative, turning my bedside cabinet into a luxury department store with a rigged-up LED night light and mood music from Classic FM. We then moved on to restaurants and bakeries using bits and pieces I bought from every corner of the internet (day or night, I was able to check out securely using PayPal): so we had cakes made from Blu Tack, sequins for biscuits, scraps of material for tablecloths.

In a world that felt as if it was spinning out of control, there was real comfort in having total mastery of our own tiny domain.

It was then that the lightbulb moment struck: if we were going to be locked down, then we needed to totally rethink the small world that we were living in rather than mourning the bigger loss. From seeing everyday items through new eyes to rearranging furniture, we realised our flat had so much potential that wed never appreciated before.

For Rosa, who was literally climbing the walls and coffee table, we dragged the cushions off the sofa, blankets from drawers and piled them in the middle of the floor so she could face plant on them repeatedly without upsetting the downstairs neighbours. Inspired by fiveminutemum.com, we then invested in bubbles, pipe cleaners and tiny pom-poms that she could sort and play with.We even bought some toddler-friendly crayons at 5am one morning, checking out quickly with PayPal while simultaneously warming up milk and manically trying to keep Rosa occupied. Theres nothing like a pandemic to give you a newfound delight in the breadth of stuff you can buy.

Each room, which before felt confining, opened up with possibilities. Rosa was in her element in an empty bath playing with pots, pans and beakers plus a jug of water while I sat on the bathroom floor catching up on family admin for a full 20 minutes. When I was in the kitchen cooking, she helped by threading dry spaghetti through the holes in a colander. It not only kept her happy, it did wonders for her hand-to-eye coordination.

Meanwhile, Betty inspired by how-to-draw videos by childrens illustrator Rob Biddulph found a new power in creating her own bedroom art gallery and started to render friends and family in paper form so that she could play with them an idea both lovely and heartbreaking. A friend lent us their tent, which we popped up in the sitting room so Betty and Steven could have an indoor sleepover one Saturday night. Lucky Steven.

If this all sounds too Waltons to be true then it is. Its not the full story: Betty also now has an addiction to the computer game Stardew Valley and Rosas fifth word is telly, which she shouts repeatedly as she shoves the remote control at our heads.

Were not nailing this thing by a long stretch, as our downstairs neighbours will attest to. But weve realised that the external draw of the organised fun isnt always the answer; that actually unleashing creativity helped us through a tricky and confusing time. Our imagination was fuelled by theirs and vice versa. I hope its something we remember to take with us into the future.

Patriots Sony Michel had deck stacked against him from Day 1 in the NFL – Musket Fire

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - JANUARY 04: Sony Michel #26 of the New England Patriots carries the ball as they take on the Tennessee Titans in the first half of the AFC Wild Card Playoff game at Gillette Stadium on January 04, 2020 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images)

Being a first-round draft pick in the NFL is both a blessing and a curse.

On the one hand, its every college players dream to have their name get called on Thursday night of the NFL Draft. After all, thats the ultimate form of validation and respect youre well-regarded enough that a professional football team is spending their prized first-round pick on you during primetime television.

On Day 2 (Friday), the second and third rounds of the Draft occur. This is usually where teams find the most value and bang for their buck in terms of quality players who might have gone Round 1 if it werent for injuries or off-the-field concerns.

By Day 3 (Saturday), its usually like throwing darts against the wall and just hoping one of them hits a bullseye. One need look no further than the example of the New England Patriots taking a chance on Tom Brady with the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft (sixth round) to realize just how random and magical those types of picks really are in the later rounds.

Its much more common to see high-impact players who are drafted in the early rounds find immediate success in the league.

Yes, there are certainly plenty of busts.

But overall, youre much more likely to find hundreds and hundreds of players drafted in the mid-to-late rounds who never amounted to anything substantial than you are to find first-round draft picks who were bonafide busts in the NFL.

Sony Michel is an interesting case.

ESPNs Mike Reiss recently posited that Michel has been hurt by his first-round perception over the past two years (really, just the past year). Reiss claims that had Michel been selected two picks later making him a second-rounder instead of a fringe first-rounder would the perception of his first two seasons be viewed a bit differently? I say yes.

Indeed, Michel was selected No. 31 overall back in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He was just two picks away from going in the second round and on Day 2 of that years event.

    Honestly, he perhaps should have.

Hindsight is 20/20, but consider the only other running backs who went in the first round that year: Saquon Barkley to the Giants and Rashaad Penny to the Seahawks. Barkley obviously remains a slam dunk two years later and an excellent value even at No. 2 overall, whereas Penny looks like a bust considering Chris Carsons emergence.

Michel should be considered a solid pick, given the fact hes rushed for nearly 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons in the league. He also did so last year with an offensive line that was decimated by injuries not to mention, he also lost his No. 1 and No. 2 fullbacks to IR (James Develin and Jakob Johnson).

And yet, the perception around the NFL is that Michel is already on thin ice after just two seasons particularly, since his yards per carry average seriously dipped from Year 1 to Year 2.

Theres no denying that Michels second season was nowhere near as productive as his first. But lets be honest and also admit that itwasnt nearly as bad as many people think it was.

I tend to side with Reiss way of thinking, and I have for a while now. If Michel was drafted on Day 2 or Day 3, we wouldnt even be talking about a second year slump.

Wed all be thanking our lucky stars we found such great value on a Friday or Saturday in the draft at running back, and wed be licking our chops at the idea of Michel behind a stalwart offensive line with a capable fullback in front of him again in 2020.

After all, those are the same ingredients he had in 2018 and we all know what happened that year, and just how instrumental he was to the Patriots success then.

It really is just a matter of perception. Michel was a first-round draft pick, so hes expected to be the engine of the offense. Hopefully, he will be just that this fall.

If hes not though, lets cut him a little slack assuming he puts up anywhere near another 1,000 yards on the ground and six or more touchdowns. Star Trek: Lower Decks Finds Its Canadian TV and Streaming Homes – ComicBook.com

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Star Trek: Lower Decks has found its Canadian home. The animated comedy series that may feature some returning characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation will air on CTV Sci-Fi and stream on Crave in Canada when it debuts later this year. This announcement shouldn't surprise Canadian Star Trek fans. CTV Sci-Fi and Crave are the television and streaming homes of Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard. It seems parent company Bell Media is happy to stay in the Star Trek business. Star Trek: Lower Decks will stream exclusively on CBS All Access, home of Discovery and Picard, in the United States.

Mike McMahan, formerly of Rick and Morty, created Lower Decks. He's recently spoken about his approach to bringing comedy to the Star Trek universe.

"A big thing that was important to me was figuring out how do we comedically access these characters," McMahan says. "How can these characters be funny and not break Star Trek? You can't have a Morty in Star Trek. You can't just have a stupid person in Starfleet, otherwise, it breaks the aspirational paradigm of what humanity is like in Starfleet. So our leads are foils for each other, but they're very much ingrained in Star Trek."

McMahan also offered some new details about the crew of the USS Cerritos. "You have Ensign Beckett Mariner, who is sort of like our Tom Cruise/Maverick, where she's amazing at Starfleet stuff, and she's incredibly knowledgeable, but she just hates following the rules and she bristles at the military structure," he says. "She wants to do whatever she wants. She's kind of like Captain Kirk if Kirk wasn't a captain and didn't have the power. Kirk would follow his gut, and she followers her gut.

"Then, Ensign Brad Boimler also knows everything about sci-fi stuff, and is also an amazing Starfleet crew member, but he's so by-the-book and so burdened by following the rules that he can't follow his gut. So the comedic friction there is that they both want the same thing, they're both good at this stuff, but emotionally and from a human level, they're completely different about how they do it."

McMahan also offered a message for fans worried that a comedy series doesn't fit into the Star Trek franchise. "Star Trek has always had comedy in it," he says. "Every series of Star Trek has funny characters, funny episodes, and those always live in the B-stories for the most part. That, to me, is what I love about Star Trek. So it's really taking that aspect of it and letting that shine. I can't wait for you guys to see it, because it's one of my favorite things I've ever made. It feels like it fell out of another dimension in the 90s where they were making a funny Next Generation era show."

Star Trek: Lower Decks debuts in 2020.

Disclosure: ComicBook is owned by CBS Interactive, a division of ViacomCBS.

Every Legends of Runeterra patch 1.4 nerf and buff – Dot Esports

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

The Season of Fortune, Legends of Runeterras next ranked season launches with the games 1.4 patch later today. It will contain a number of adjustments that are likely to shake up the meta.

Balance changes in the update include a focus on improving underutilized Epic units and champions, buffs to the Freljord region, and an adjustment to steal effects. Nab is a new mechanic in LoR, replacing the previous steal-from-deck effect. Instead of removing cards from the top of an opponents deck, Nab removes them from the bottom. The intention is to reduce drawing buffed cards from an opponent or possibly increasing their chance to top-deck a champion.

The focus on the Freljord region has been long overdue, despite the recent popularity of Sejuani. Anivia was once the queen of Control decks and Braum hasnt seen a good amount of gameplay since the open beta. Adjustments to both champions in the update should shift back into top-tier status. From champion buffs to Epic units like Jae Mederda, heres every nerf and buff taking place within the LoR 1.4 update.

Hoping to increase playability for certain LoR champions, adjustments were made to Darius, Anivia, and Braum.

The increase to Darius health only affects his leveled up form. Considering most players dont bring him into play until he levels up, though, this buff is a big deal. Expect to see Darius once again in Midrange Noxus builds and even potentially in Burn decks as a solid finisher.

Since the release of Rising Tides, Anivia was often overlooked due to her casting cost of seven. The Riot team compared her to Nautilus and a leveled-up Karma and decided to reduce her cost by one. Expect Frost Control decks to return within the meta.

Braum was given a total overhaul, increasing his cost and power level , while also adjusting his text. Braum was always at his best when spitting out Poros after being dealt damage, so the LoR team made it his baseline and leveled up ability. His cost increase takes this into account, along with his power of one at baseline and a +1/+1 when leveled.

A total of five LoR Epic units are getting adjustments in the upcoming 1.4 update. Cards with Nab have been changed, and a major nerf was applied to Black Market Merchant, reducing his health by one.

Genevieve Elmheart is often overlooked in Scout builds and other Midrange decks due to other six-cost Demacia cards like Cithria the Bold. The LoR team has increased her stats in hoping that shell have an impact on the Standard Constructed meta. As a 5/4, Swiftwing Lancer sees play; and as a 5/5 with Scout, so might Genevieve Elmheart.

The intentional design behind Captain Farron was to use him as a finisher against slow decks. His original text had a player discard their hand in order to turn those cards in Decimates. Now he creates three Decimates upon being summoned, instead. The change to Captain Farron will likely earn him gameplay in Noxus Burn decks as a solid finisher.

She Who Wanders received an added Keyword, Regeneration. A change like this may have an impact on Freljord Control decks.

Ren Shadwoblade is a powerful Ionian Epic card. His cost reduction will allow him to get played more often in Ephemeral builds, but his power and health decrease will increase his vulnerability to removal.

Jae Mederda has an awesome ability that was often overlooked due to his casting cost. A reduction from eight to six makes him more accessible and will likely create cantrip thats worth putting him P&Z Control builds.

Endure decks have taken a slight hit, but the cost increase wont likely change its tier status.

A nerf to Escaped Abomination not only increases the vulnerability of the card to removal, but also reduces its survivability upon being blocked.

Sea Monster builds wont get hit too hard with the nerf to Dreg Dredgers. It will reduce the Deep decks early game presence, but not enough to hurt the overall build.

Bilgewater Keg decks are fun to play, but the LoR team wants them viable in competitive play as well. An increase in health to Petty Officer wont likely make that happen. It will, however, work nicely in those meme decks.

A nerf to Black Market Merchant will improve the health of the overall LoR meta. Hes more vulnerable to removal at one health and will likely get taken out within a turn or two at most.

Of the six spells adjusted in the LoR 1.4 update, The Harrowing and Unyielding Spirit will have the greatest impact. A buff to Super Mega Death Rocket will also increase Jinx builds, as it only costs one spell mana to cast it now.

Below Deck’s Jessica More Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Filming Secrets – inTouch Weekly

    - June 24, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Spilling the tea! Below Deck MediterraneanstarJessica Morereveals behind-the-scenes secrets while filming aboardTheWellingtonin an exclusive interview withIn Touch. I just know theres cameras everywhere, she shares.

Whether its an actual cameraman or its placed on the wall somewhere or propped up somewhere theres always a camera in sight, Jessica, who is the third stew, explains.Theres zero privacy unless youre going to the restroom. Well, thats a relief!

Despite the lack of peace and quiet, Jessica said the cameras are always rolling leaving no room for slackers. The most challenging for me is going non-stop, literally, she shares. Im the type of person that needs my downtime to myself, so it was a challenge to constantly being on. It was a challenge to always have to be on.

Although the crew gets an hour or two [hour] break in which they might get lucky enough to fall asleep, its never enough. Itd be exhausting, Jessica recalls. I think youre running off of adrenaline the whole time.

Jessica explains life as a yachtie, especially onBelow Deck, is not something you can study for. I had the experience. I had been doing yachting for like three years but its one of those where you can never be prepared in time for a charter in 24 hours, whatever that time span is. So you just got to do what you got to do.

Once you step aboard, You hit the ground running and you dont even really get too much of a chance to figure out how things work, she continues.

Although life onThe Wellington is anxiety-ridden, its not much different from other mega-yachts. Listen all yachts are stressful because youre handling a chunk of money it feels like and its always intense the clients, the owners, the guests, whomever they always want the best service and you want to provide that to them, the Bravo star says. But then theres still that level of fun. I feel like the spirit that a lot of yachties have is wanting to have fun, so its that whole mentality of work hard play hard. So the work environment is stressful but its fun.
