03-11-2011 14:19 UMass Amherst is embarking on an ambitious $186.5 million building project that will provide a new home for its Commonwealth Honors College. The six-building complex now under construction includes nine classrooms, a conference center, residence halls for 1500 students, office and study space and a café. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2013, the complex will put UMass Amherst in the top tier of honors colleges nationally and help recruit academically talented students to the Commonwealth's flagship campus.
