Basically, the discovery of bacteria and mold on pacifiers was made by Dr. Tom Glass and his team of researchers. Based on the report, Glass and his team conducted a study on 10 pacifiers collected from healthy infants. They let the pacifiers stand alone for 48 hours. And after checking them out, the group found five of the pacifiers were lightly contaminated and the other five were heavily contaminated.

The report detailed there were 40 types of bacteria found in the pacifiers. Those bacteria were associated with cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, allergies, asthma and autoimmune diseases. The most common of them, the report added, could modify the normal bacteria in a baby's mouth and increase the risk of developing gastrointestinal problems and ear infections.

Because of this new discovery, Dr Mold Network reminded all mothers to always make sure their babies' pacifiers are clean before giving it to them. However, it also said that mold could grow on many other things, even on walls and ceilings. So, it stated that everyone else should be cautious of mold.

To help the public with their mold removal processes, the site suggested the use of mold remediation products. Particularly, it recommended Molderizer.
