Feras Naaisa and Hind Barakat

AMAN is facing a possible prison sentence for harassing two Bristol doctors over an alleged death in Syria. David Tzadok, 57, of Harcourt Road, Redland, sent messages and documents to bosses at St Michael's Hospital claiming doctor Feras Naaisa had been involved in the death of a maid who fell from a tower block in Syria ten years ago.

Tzadok then told Mr Naaisa's wife, dental surgeon Hind Barakat, that her and her children's lives were in danger from her husband.

He also contacted the police, social services and the General Medical Council (GMC) about the alleged murder.

The "distressing" harassment forced the doctors to move house, Bristol Magistrates' Court heard. He was convicted by a judge and will be sentenced at a later date.

Tzadok told the court he had began targeting the doctors and the authorities after receiving a call from Mrs Barakat's mother in Syria whom he used to live underneath.

He said allegations of the death involving Mr Naaisa of a Filipino maid who fell from a tower block had come to light and he felt it was his duty to relay the information.

The court heard that Mr Naaisa was first approached about the incident by the clinical director of St Michael's Hospital, John Murdoch, in May last year.

He said: "It was shocking. I was called by Mr Murdoch and he said 'Have you killed someone'?' He added: "It was clear someone was trying to blackmail me."

Mr Naaisa said he returned home one day to find his wife in tears after being contacted by the social services who, he said, had asked her whether he posed any harm to the children.
