Sharon Mackay is an award winning Landscape Architect and urban designer with over 16 years of collaborative practice in South Australia, Victoria and North America. She currently works with the Government Architect in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and is co-host of the successful Radio Adelaide program, The Plan. Prior to this, Sharon spent seven years as a Senior Associate at HASSELL, receiving recognition for the major redevelopment at Adelaide Zoo including the Giant Panda Exhibit and Entrance Precinct Sharon has a particular interest in interdisciplinary practice and the role of design led thinking in shaping public policy and the future of our cities. She is passionate about connecting people and opportunities, sustainable ecosystems and healthy communities. In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
