Chicago Park District historian Julia S. Bachrach recently present lectures on the recent publication of the second edition of her book, The City in a Garden, A History of Chicago #39;s Parks. The first edition, published in 2001, garnered widespread praise. WTTW Channel 11 producer and program host Geoffrey Baer hails the new edition as "a book about Chicago treasures from an author who is a Chicago treasure herself."The second edition of The City in a Garden illuminates Chicago #39;s 175-year commitment to its public parks. With historical plans, photographs and drawings, it explores how luminaries such as architect Daniel H.
