Owned by Bill and Cindy Staycheff, the showrooms include one at 2783 Front St. in Cuyahoga Falls, one in Garfield Heights and the newest one in North Royalton.

Bill Staycheff, who has 30 years of experience in the industry, said a new site, with 3,100 square feet, at 3500 Hudson Drive is under construction and will open in the fall to replace the current 1,100-square-foot showroom on Front Street.

Staycheff said Freedom Design is one of the largest independent dealers of KraftMaid Cabinetry in Northeast Ohio.

Pam Whitney, one of five designers at the business, suggests those interested in redoing a kitchen or bathroom begin by visiting a showroom. The showrooms include hundreds of displays of kitchen cabinets, countertops, cabinet hardware and storage solutions, such as pullout trashcans, spice racks, tray dividers, overhangs for pots and more to help optimize space.

There are so many choices available, and the showroom is a good starting point in the planning process, she said. We have eight different cabinet lines, and each has dozens of styles in a variety of price ranges. It often comes down to the right color.

Whitney said the most popular choices today are painted or glazed cabinets and two-toned kitchens. Dark woods like cherry are also popular, and dark oak cabinetry is making a comeback, she added.

The showroom gives customers a better idea of what the finished product may look like, said Whitney.

When we talk to customers about designing, we take into consideration what they do like about their kitchen and what they dont like, and we make sure the redesign will work for them, she said. We want to make sure the new kitchen is a lot better than the old one.
