Drury Design wins team remodeling award

GLEN ELLYN Drury Design Kitchen and Bath Studio won a 2014 Regional Chrysalis Team Award, the studio announced in a news release.

The Chrysalis Awards honor the finest remodeling projects in the country. The studio was awarded for a contemporary kitchen remodel in the northwest suburbs.

The purpose of the remodel was to transform a small kitchen into the hub of a 2,500-square-foot townhouse.

Design plans called for improving the kitchen design layout, upgrading appliances, including a six-burner range with duel fuel oven, and creating a distinct eating area with a built-in granite table.

By relocating the laundry area to another level of the townhouse, removing the wall between the spaces and expanding the range wall by removing a broom closet, additional space was created.

Contemporary cabinetry and other aesthetics were included to update the look to create a modern European feel.
