MONTREALIt was a full house for Shen Yun Performing Arts Saturday afternoon performance at Montreals Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, the largest theatre hall in Place des Arts with some 2,990 seats.

Annie Laplante, a general contractor and interior designer, was completely swept away by the show.

Everything is extraordinary, she said.

Ms. Laplante works for her fathers construction company, Les Constructions D.L.A. Inc., which has been building condominiums in Montreal for over 35 years. As a professional designer, she was intrigued by the dynamic backdrops that are one of the unique features of each Shen Yun dance.

The story, coordination with the screen, spectacular effectsits really good, she said.

Not only did she like the technical aspects, including the dancing and the costumes, but the purity inherent in the show reminded Mrs. Laplante of long-lost childhood innocence.

It brings back childhood, the innocence that we have lost over the years, with the work and everything, she said.

Everything is magical.

Shen Yuns mission is to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired Chinese culture, says the companys website. Performers dance in synch to music from a live Shen Yun orchestra that combines classical Western instruments and traditional Chinese instruments.
