NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

This is the time of year when people start thinking about decorating for the holidays.

News 2 teamed up with StyleBluePrint.com to find out how to make memorable table for your guests.

They led us to one of the best interior designers in Nashville, R. Higgins Interiors. The designer, Roger Higgins, said his creations are not as difficult as one might think.

Some of the things I think we should all have in our repertoire are just a good white, China buffet plate and a multipurpose wine glass."

You should then pair that with collected pieces of silver and a salad plate that is more traditional or one that's young and fresh.

You can even incorporate a mason jar as your water glass.

If you center your table with a floral arrangement; make sure the flowers are real, according to Higgins.

When you have something fresh and real it feels like somebody has gone to some amount of trouble for you to be there and everybody wants to feel like that, he explained.

For Christmas, Higgins suggested putting a place card for each seat and using a few packages of ornaments as a centerpiece.
