OTTAWA, CanadaInterior designer Tammy Younker was creatively inspired after watching Shen Yun Performing Arts at the National Arts Centre on Dec. 28, 2012.

Its awe-inspiring and educational all at the same time. Its really wonderful, she said.

I love it, it was nothing that I had anticipated.

Ms. Younker has worked as an interior designer for 12 years across a wide variety of industriesfrom residential and commercial projects to hospitality, industrial, and health care.

She said the vibrant and unique colour palette in Shen Yuns costumes was remarkable and inspiring.

The colour combinations are wonderful, Ms. Younker said.

It evokes feeling and sensation and really engages the audience in whats going on onstageits beautiful.

New York-based Shen Yun is a world-renowned classical Chinese dance and music company that aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.

According to its website, the company creates hundreds of new costumes each season and aims to achieve an authentic presentation of the attire that comes from Chinas divinely inspired traditional culture.
