What would we do without Gwyneth Paltrow? First she tells us how she manages her busy day, what with dropping two kids off at school and a singing lesson. Then she publishes a Christmas gift guide where my favourite suggestion was a 24 carat gold, horn-shaped speaker. Now she shares this gem of a lifestyle idea the Room in a Box on her GOOP newsletter.

It is exactly what it sounds like. A Room. In a Box. It's evolved from the online content of wsroominabox.com, offering the expert advice of Windsor Smith Gwyneth's go-to interiors gal to decorate an entire room, all delivered in one small, neatly ribboned, blue box.

If you're unsure how to deck out a particular space in Gwynnie's case it was a sitting room with a grand piano in it, naturally all you need to do is send off the specs of the room along with anything helpful about your preferred style. Gwyneth submitted a whimsical mood board, then answered a 10-minute questionnaire on how she wanted to use the room. A few weeks later, the aforementioned blue box arrives in the mail, containing everything you need to decorate your room. Kind of.

You get a storyboard, a room plan, a list of exactly what furniture to buy (there are three budget options), and what fabric/wall coverings/paint selections you need.

All for the measly (cough, cough) price of $1250-$7500, depending on the size of the project.
