Accra A GHANAIAN automobile company has made history by launching first locally-made vehicles in the country.

According to Great Kosa Automobile Company Limited interior decorator, Kwasi Frimpong, the new assembling plant has successfully implemented the general assembling of the cars, welding, spraying, testing and chemical installations.

The latest development will see locals reduce the cost of importing vehicles from overseas as the local company will do the job.

Owned by renowned Christian, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, who is the founder of Kristo Asafo Mission, Great Kosa Automobile Company Limited successfully, launched its new automobile assembling plant following the release of seven vehicles.

Frimpong said the plant, which produces seven vehicles per day would soon treble the production to a total of 20 cars per day.

The Great Kosa Automobile Company Limited's assembling plant is located at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region.

Frimpong said the assembling plant, which was commissioned in April 2014, produces special utility vehicles (SUVs) and pick-up trucks.
