Exploring the unique ways in which Sony's "NightShot Plus" system works. This was the "color" version of NightShot, used mostly on their Hi8, Digital8, and MiniDV tape camcorders from 2004 to 2008, but also on a few of their hard drive-based Handycams. Since then, Sony has gone back to using the regular version of NightShot, which just turns the entire image monochrome green (perhaps because the NightShot Plus system does not work with CMOS image sensors?), and seems to be phasing it out entirely; only two models out of their entire 2011 camcorder lineup still have NightShot, and both are rather expensive HD models.
