Suddenlink has announced the creation of a home automation service that will offer remote control of various functions.

The company said Connected Home will supplement its existing home security service and offer 24/7 professional monitoring.

Connected Home allows users to remotely arm and disarm their security system, control lights, thermostats and door locks. They also can receive text and e-mail notices about events at home and obtain streaming video and inside and outside pictures while away from the residence.

The program is Central Station Alarm Association Five Diamond Certified and UL Listed. Customers receive an app that allows them to control their homes remotely from a desktop, smart phone or other connected device.

A variety of monitoring devices is available from Suddenlink, such as carbon monoxide, smoke/heat and flood detectors.

There also are image sensors, plug-in dimmer and lamp modules, garage door sensors, glass break senors and panic buttons.
