SOUTHAVEN, MS -

(WMC) - Neighbors of a man who was found murdered in his Southaven home are on high alert after a man showed up days later trying to sell them home security.

Johnny Moore was found beaten to death on Tuesday by police officers who were called to his home by neighbors who had not seen him for a while.

Now, his neighbors are upset that a company was using Moore's story in an attempt to sell security equipment in their neighborhood.

Sherry Beavers was devastated to hear about Moore's death, but she was furious about what happened two days later.

"This guy showing up yesterday just stunned me," she said.

Beavers says the security salesman was trying to take advantage of a tragic situation by using the murder as a sales pitch.

"Use crime statistics, but don't use the murder of a man that's immediately happened to make your sale on. You know, show some respect," she said.

The man left Beavers a card from Security Solutions, Inc. in Cordova, Tenn.
