Cleburne police and firefighters responded to an assault that resulted in a stabbing at 9:20 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Northridge Drive.

Rescue workers found the victim, a 46-year-old Cleburne man, on the floor of his living room with a stab wound.

The victim was uncooperative and refused to answer most of the questions posed to him including the kind of weapon he was stabbed with, according to reports. The victim said he had been drinking before the incident.

An ambulance transported him to an area hospital and additional details of his condition have not been released.

The incident remains under investigation as no suspect was on scene when police arrived.

Security surveys available

The Cleburne Police Department is offering security surveys for homes and apartments.

Cleburne police joined officers and officials from area cities last week to attend a five-day training class on home security and other topics.

The Texas Chisholm Trail Crime Prevention Association conducted the sessions at the Cleburne Conference Center.
