FPC 2012 Alabama Mission Trip
Our Alabama mission trip in June was an amazing experience. Together 17 youth and adults set out to be the hands and feet of our Lord to help tornado victims. As the weather was hot and humid we diligently persevered as warriors of God to serve those that are still living in the devastation of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. As we went out to bless, we in turn were the recipients of the greater blessing as we experienced the joyful attitudes and strong faith of those people living in unimaginable situations. Our daily activities included major home restoration, as well as sharing our hope and love for the Lord through planting trees at homes, giving out "Hope Blankets," Bibles, hymnals, devotionals, children #39;s books and food. As well we spent time listening to the people #39;s stories of the devas-tating tornadoes and how they lost so much, yet how blessed they feel to be alive. As we finished our work week and returned home, we brought with us a life changing experience and memories of the wonderful people who touched our lives forever. Our mission team grew even closer as a church family and appreciated the prayers and support that made this trip possible. Our mission team included mdash;Youth: Will Dunnavant, Logan and Mason Keen, Forrest and Kathelene White, Morgan and Allie Cowles; Adults: Jon Taylor, Anthony Kirk, Jim McKissack, Vivian Jones, Sharon Keen, William Ide , Wendell Bearden, James Harris, Ceil and Ty Cowles. From:First Presbyterian Church Jackson, TNViews:7 0ratingsTime:11:07More inPeople Blogs
