Renovations underway on Plaza building

Workers with Las Cruces-based C D General Contractors continued construction on the roof of the Plaza Building at White Sands Boulevard and 10th Street Thursday afternoon. Construction to restore the more than 70 year old building began in early February and is expected to last five months. Workers said they expect construction on the roof of the Plaza Building to last a couple more weeks. The Tularosa Basin Historical Society plans to convert the adobe building into a historical museum. The renovations are expected to cost about 405,000.
